One other reason for the delay is that even if they had finished the inlays and were able to get the infill lid out, brushed and groomed, the field needs to undergo a "field" test before being played on to ensure that the surface is safe.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7344170032110076245.post-30978693278349647952011-10-12T20:03:27.128-04:002011-10-12T20:03:27.128-04:00Mr Trifone can say whatever he wants and I appreci...Mr Trifone can say whatever he wants and I appreciate his (and many others) enthusiasm on this. But the turf contractor is delayed in completing the various inlaid portions on the field such as yardage markers, soccer lines, logo, etc. The rain does not help either. And no, there are no issues with the drainage of the field.

Mr. Trifone has arranged for the Friday night game against Wilbur Cross to be played at Sheehan. The priority is to get the ENTIRE project (Track/Field) completed this fall. Delaying the track resurfacing (not an option) so that the field can be used sooner than planned is not in the best interests of completing this project in its' entirety.

As of today, the target completion date remains 11/11.Tony Peruginihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01749463407357429178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7344170032110076245.post-71853135133999120052011-10-12T17:36:56.358-04:002011-10-12T17:36:56.358-04:00The problem with the drainage is that the drainage...The problem with the drainage is that the drainage system (ie: the turf completely laid out, "buttoned down" completely, etc.) is not complete so water gets underneath. Hence, the rain this week slows the process of how they have to properly complete it.

The problem isn't an issue with the drainage. Its an issue with the field not being completed and therefore not operating the way it should.

Its like building a house and not fully completing the roof yet.
